blog entry 7: Reflection and Evaluation

First , I want to say thank you  so much because this class is totally different  for me . I did not improve in internet only but also in writing skills.You let me organize my essays and my thoughts.all I need is to be sure of my self that I can do it and use a lot of new vocabulary in my essays.The only challenges  I am facing, the internet . sometimes I want to follow up with class but I cant . I need to work  alot on the internet but I cant because I dont have enough time or maybe Because I am old , I dont know.I think I did very good in the CAT exam. The essay I had was How to use new methods in good studing.I organized very well. I started with the main idea , followed by the claim .The next paragraph was the summery of the whole passage , then I talked about my personal experiences and by the end I put the conclusion.

Blog entry 6 (The allegory of the cave)

                          The passage (The allegory of the cave) by Socrates talks about very significant idea which is “realizing the truth”. Generations after generations live all their lives, believe in their negative concepts and thoughts. They refuse to think. They live in a cave full of shadows. They refuse to learn about the truth .The truth is outside of their cave but they refuse to believe. In my opinion I agree with Socrates concept. I believe that as long humans beings are living, they have to seek for freedom .Freedom of thoughts and habits. Sometimes we live all our lives and die without realizing the truth.

                         

                       It takes years and years to get outside of the cave .It takes time to see the light and realize the reality. They see the changes and don’t accept it. They rejected to live the challenges of life, because the truth always surrounded by Bain. People in this passage like prisoners. They are prisoners of thoughts and perspectives .Prisoners recognize the truth of life like shadows, in our passage one of these prisoners broke the chains. He went outside of the cave. He saw the wonderful world outside the cave. He saw the light .The light of the sun. The sun is the truth. He realized the truth. When he came back to his beers. He tried to break their chains. They refused him. They disbelieved him. They like the ignorance they live in. The easy life they live. The life they get used to for years. But always, there will be someone tries to get out of the cave, He will break the chains .The rude will be lighten by him. He knew the truth and realized reality.

      

                       I want to write about my childhood. Im from Egypt when I was young, my parents used to bring me to church all the time. When I was in church. I enjoyed my time between praying and attending the sun day school. We used to have a different teacher once a while. Those teachers used to say the same words.”We are the chosen people for God .We have the right direction between all religions .Everything we do is a sin .If we drink, it is a sin. If we went to a movie theater, it is a sin. Everything is forbidden. We are the sons of God, and because we are the sons of God. We shouldn’t do a lot of things”. The truth is the Christian church controlling the people all over the world, not only in my country but also around the world. They control the brains, the minds, the thoughts and the believes. And the same is happening in the Muslim world. When I grow up .I saw things different. As a grown woman .I would like to judge things from my own perspective. I would like to believe and think with my own mind. I seek for freedom, for light, for the sun and for the truth.

        

               

                   By the end, whatever it takes, people will change, it takes time to change, but they will. They will know the truth. They will see the light by the end of the rude. They will break the chains and get out of the cave. They will make believe in the wonderful world outside the cave. Make believe in truth and reality. Make believe in freedom.

The passage (The allegory of the cave) by Socrates talks about, prisoners with thoughts and believes. Generations through generations believe in one thing , they see the truth like shadows.All their lives,they refuse to see around their eyes.They chained by  thoughts , believes, or maybe illusions.One of these prisoners broke the chains .He went outside the cave . When he came back to his beers,he tried to let them see the great world he saw, they disbelieve him .They refused to see except their shadows, their believes and  their thoughts.They love the easy life they live.But always there will be someone  seeks for freedom ,seeks for light,seeks for reality and truth.

Whatever this role is bad or good on society, it affects us tremendously. I agree with the author that adv and commercials are playing  a very important role in our lives .
               Advertisements are the main source of pollution to brains functions.Our brains are loaded by millions and millions of adv every day. Anywhere we go , our eyes are faced with commercials.Commercials companies are targeting the young kids even in their schools.No way to run from adv . We lost the enjoyment of life because of commercials.  
               Firstly, according to the article advertisement are the main source of pollution for our mental health and  our brain functions.It consider harmful for the environment. Our brains are flooded with  a huge amount of adv every day . According to the author, it is estimated 12 billions display adv, 3 millions radio commercials and more than 200.000 TV commercials are presented daily. These numbers are limited only to the united states.
               Additionally,  People are faced with adv almost every day. The moment our eyes are open until we go to bed , thousands of them are advertised all over. According to the passage. Comm are everywhere,in subways, buses, taxis, billboards and stadiums.The only thing that people see or hear or watch is adv .On my way to work. I take the subway , during my ride, I try to rest my head and close my eyes because I want to avoid looking to them , but no way.There are inside the subways cars, all over the subways walls. It is overwhelming the majority of them. Even in streets , they use people bodies to advertise on to let people pay attention to one of the stores or to a new item will be presented.
              Further more, adv contributed to obesity and violence among teenagers, this is due to the fact that tremendous amount of  adv and comm are presented to them. Also due to the fact that young people  are targeted from the owners of the adv companies because they spent more time on TV or on playing video games . This is so harmful for our young generations. While ago I watched in the news that a mother of a young girl sued McDonald because her girl refuse to eat anything except the meal that presented in McDonald.This id due to the TV commercials.
              Finley, adv are playing tremendous role in ruining people lives. It is the reason for losing the enjoyment of life  for a lot of people .The beautiful of life is lost by adv and commercials.
